Some sessions are all about the beat. Others are about the feeling behind it. This week, IDHS brings both together in a carefully selected journey through the soulful side of House Music, where expressive vocals, uplifting harmonies and infectious rhythms take centre stage.
Moving between soulful, vocal and deeper House territories, this selection celebrates the connection between music and emotion. Every track brings its own character to the mix, from the warmth and elegance of Spiritchaser’s vocal sound on Love U Now to the unmistakable touch of Mousse T. on Chew Fu and Steve Clisby’s reinterpretation of Purple Rain.
The groove continues with Kenny Bobien’s gospel-infused spirit, the dancefloor energy of Todd Terry’s re-edit of You Make Me Happy, and the soulful expression of Ann Nesby’s I Feel, remixed by Paul Adam. Further into the session, Seb Skalski, Eric Kupper and Kiko Navarro add their distinctive approaches to a musical journey that remains rooted in rhythm, feeling and quality House production.
Closing with the vocal power of Mellow Baku and The Friday People on The Messenger, in the full vocal remix by DJ Spen and Gary Hudgins, the selection brings together different shades of the House sound while maintaining a natural flow throughout.
No unnecessary distractions. Just great music, carefully chosen grooves and voices that remind us why soulful House continues to move people on and off the dancefloor.
